Markdown Formatting

Innoscout let's your format some text inputs (e.g. emails and messages) using Markdown language. This is a very natural way for you to write the message using just plain text which is then automatically formatted into a rich message format such as HTML.

So you would write:

Hello!

Remember this *list*:

- Item 1
- Item 2
- Item 3

and the resulting message would be:

Hello!

Remember this list:

  • Item 1
  • Item 2
  • Item 3

The most important rules are:

  • Start a list with hyphen and a space
  • Bold text is surrounded by one asterisk *
  • Italic text is surrounded by two asterisks **
  • Headers can be prefixed with a #

Wherever markdown is possible, you will see a preview link just beneath the text input to show you what your message would look like.

But if you would like to see what is possible with Markdown formatting, please see this guide.
